Let’s make the long-story short – I have two Kanon scripts more or less ready, but you won’t see them here anymore. Turns out people did like the torrent thing a lot, so I think I’m gonna try that out at Over-Time instead. From the year and a half since I started this project, O-T kind of managed to score a humble distro team. The reason why I never did torrents for kanon was because my upload sucks dongs, and by doing this as O-T I can get around that minor inconvenient.

(Also, by adding this to O-T I can look at our release queue and feel ashamed for being a fucking slowqueen. Yay for blackmailing myself!)

So what’s gonna change? Not much, really! Well, the OP and ED did change, but that ain’t my doing, so I don’t think that really counts. I did tweak the styles after having a bit of a typesetter crisis at the beginning of Fourze, so there’s that. Fonts are still the same, I just tweaked some font sizes and vertical padding. There might be a future batch with the previous scripts fixed to match these new styles, but considering I’ve still gotta do dem OOO batches that’s very far into the future.

I’ll keep updating the mediafire folder with the scripts, too.

Also, to keep in vein with the rest of the O-T releases, I’m taking out the onscreen credits. Kou is cool with this, and I’ll keep mentioning her on the release posts, so that’s fine and dandy.

Anyways, let’s see if I can make it for tonight. Ideally I’d want to sneak a release during/after Super Hero Time, to pimp it out a bit.

More action, less words! Yeah, that too.

I’m also dropping SRT releases altogether for Kanon (too much of a hassle and nearly no one’s downloading them anyways). I’ll keep doing SRT releases for other select releases.

Apesto para speedsubbing o al menos en la parte en la que tengo que traducir cosas aparte de timearlas :V

Desafortunadamente perder mi PC de escritorio me ha chutado no solo los scripts de TrF que estaba trabajando, sino también mis recursos para hacer chunches de fansub. (Aunque eso es algo bueno, en retrospectiva.) Tengo respaldos de casi todo en dropbox. Por mientras sobrevivo con una laptop del 98 que no está precisamente habilitada para servir de máquina fansuberil (o de uso diario), y otra laptop que aguanta bien, pero con la paranoia del momento la uso a ratos y únicamente para hacer QCs. El tiempo que paso en línea lo invierto más en actividades dignas de un NEET, como mirar la lista de empleos a ver si sale algo decente, y hacer experimentos con html limitados por el hecho de que abrir algo con javascript deja a mi laptop en estado catatónico.

tl;dr esta semana habrá un script de ooo y con suerte dos de hagaren o uno de kanon.

Probablemente convenza a Heat para que adapte OOO a español en mi lugar. :V

I am also reissuing Episode 9′s SRT as I forgot to erase some timestamps. I guess I need to be more careful next time.

Usually, I don’t tamper much with Kou’s scripts, other than splitting lines and fixing the ocassional typo. However, this time in particular I had to delete an entire line, which according to a TL friend wasn’t really there to begin with. I also had to edit the neighboring lines into smaller sentences. It’s somewhere around line 124, when Moriya is explaining his situation to Kanon and Taihei. I hope those sentences don’t stand out like a sore thumb due to lazy phrasing or whatever.

Now I’d better haul my ass to bed or I’m gonna be too sleepy for OOO weekend. :x

En el marco de cierta convención americana en la que tipos cuarentones que alguna vez vistieron trajes de spándex en su juventud hablan sobre las fugaces mieles del éxito que llegaron a probar a sus veintitantos, un nerd llamado Andre publicó en su canal de youtube una entrevista que realizó con Selwyn Ward, actor conocido por su papel de TJ en Power Rangers Turbo y Power Rangers In Space. Como hace mucho que no traducía un video al random de youtube, y este me ha parecido más interesante que el tl;dr de David Yost (que probablemente ya está traducido, al menos la parte que más le interesa a la gente), me he dado la tarea de traducirlo, haciéndolo a puro oído y apoyándome un poco en comentarios de Youtube para algunas palabrejas más canijas.

Este es un sketch de cinco minutos con un par de negros afroamericanos haciendo chistes de negros afroamericanos. Si encuentran eso remotamente ofensivo… dude. D:

Notas bajo el corte~

Siendo esto un sketch con un corte muy americano, puede que varias de las referencias pasen desapercibidas por muchos de los que la vean. Apuntando las que me parecen menos obvias para los espectadores no americanos:

• Whoopi Goldberg es la primera persona de color en conducir The View, un programa de entrevistas muy conocido en USA.
• Después de que Selwyn Ward fuera líder de los Power Rangers, las hermanas Venus y Serena Williams patearon traseros en el mundo del tenis, llegando a ser las número uno del mundo durante el 2002.
• The Tonight Show es un programa de variedades muy popular en USA que se emite desde 1954. La frase “Roll the clip” es una de las frases características del programa.
• George Washington Carver es un inventor y botánico afroamericano del siglo pasado, que destacó  por su caracter humanista, al dedicar su vida a la investigación de cultivos para beneficiar con su conocimiento a familias afroamericanas.
• Michael Chambers, conocido por su apodo “Boogaloo Shrimp”, es un bailarín de color que se hizo famoso por dos películas de culto en las que popularizó un estilo de baile muy particular.
• Hawthorne es un drama médico protagonizado por Jada Pinkett Smith y Michael Vartan (Vaughn en Alias ♥), serie cuyo único punto fuerte parece ser precisamente… la presencia de Michael Vartan. El por qué tenga una segunda temporada es todo un misterio.
• Para los que nunca vieron Madagascar en inglés, Jada Pinkett Smith hace la voz de Gloria la hipopótamo (¿hipopótama?)
• Al final se mencionan a tres usuarios populares de youtube, entre ellos a la celebridad de internet Tay Zonday.

Aunque por decisión colectiva en Over-Time dejamos TaToBa y relacionados como tal, en estos subtítulos mantendré la traducción de la canción. Qué democracia ni que ocho cuartos. :V Lo que no he traducido son los Takocan. La traducción funciona en inglés porque la mitad del término está en inglés (i.e: OctoCan), pero PulpoLata suena como una taradez parida por Coca Cola, por ponerlo amablemente.

El restorán al que Hina entra de medio tiempo, Cous Coussier, es probablemente una referencia al couscoussier, que es una vasija que se usa para preparar un platillo marroquí conocido como couscous o cuscús. Ahora bien, el que sea un restorán marroquí aún está por verse…

He estado enviando los scripts también a Japasubs, todavía quedo pendiente en ver si aprueban el 2, pero por lo pronto eso ya está enviado.
